Nunsmere's lakeside setting proved an inspiration for Sir Aubrey Brocklebank and his wife Lady Grace who built the Hall around 1900 when it almost overnight became the venue of glittering parties attended by the great and the good of Edwardian England. To this day Nunsmere continues to epitomise the splendour of gracious living enjoyed here for more than a century.

We are able to cater for up to 80 guests in the main house in a choice of private dining rooms or for in excess of 600 guests in a bespoke marquee erected in the extensive grounds surrounding Nunsmere. Nunsmere Hall Hotel is licensed for Civil Ceremonies.

Guest Room facilities

Nunsmere has 29 bedrooms and 8 suites. Each is individually and tastefully designed with antique furniture and fine fabrics. The blend of the antique and the modern creates a sense of timeless elegance.

There’s plenty of space to stretch out and the bathrooms are generously proportioned, too. Most rooms enjoy views over the charming gardens or wooded shores of the lake. This is real luxury accommodation just outside of Chester, Cheshire.

You’ll enjoy our little touches. Televisions in some of the bathrooms, for example. Jugs of fresh milk instead of tiny pots of UHT. Cute wooden models of sleeping cats to leave outside your room instead of the usual ‘Do Not Disturb’ signs.

Directions by road

Nunsmere Hall is situated on the A49, Oakmere near Northwich Cheshire.

From The South

Leave the M6 at Junction 18 and follow the signs to Middlewich and Chester via the A54, continue for approximately 10 miles on the A54 following signs for Chester and turn right onto the A49 at the traffic lights (signposted for Warrington). Nunsmere Hall is approximately one mile on the right hand side.

From The North

Leave the M6 motorway at Junction 19 and follow the signs to Chester via the A556 for approximately 10 miles, continue through the village of Sandiway until the second set of traffic lights (Shell garage on the right), turn left on to the A49 (signposted for Whitchurch) and you will find the hotel one mile on the left hand side.

Hartford railway station is just 5 miles away with direct trains running to and from Euston Station, London. Cuddington railway station is 2 miles away, with Chester and Crewe railway stations both approximately 12 miles away.
