Introduction
Tabley House is the
perfect setting for smaller, intimate weddings and
civil partnership ceremonies set in the Cheshire
countryside, or where flexibility is important.
Constructed in the
1760’s this Grade 1 listed building is the only
truly Palladian house in the North West. The House
and Estate has seen many family weddings and
celebrations over the last 600 years and it
continues to provide a warm, friendly welcome to
those who now want to make it part of their own
family history.
Its grand, sweeping
staircase gives your guests a hint of the splendour
within and allows them a little pause before the
ceremony begins to take in the views across the park
from the balcony.
The Portico
The plaster reliefs
and statues give the Portico a simple, classical
feel, ideal for “the Welcome” and champagne and
canapés after the ceremony. The Portico is suitable
for drinks receptions of up to 100 people and a
ceremony for up to 80 people. You provide your own
drinks and canapés (and we don’t charge corkage!)
giving you full control over the quality offered to
your guests.
The Great Gallery
Most couples opt to
have their ceremony in the sumptuous surroundings of
the Great Gallery with its red, gold and cream
colour scheme. Its painted cloud ceiling gives the
feel of an atrium. Exquisite paintings and
furniture complete the setting, creating a fairy
tale wedding. The room is licensed for ceremonies
up to 100 people.
Photographs
Tabley House comes
into its own as a backdrop for photographs, whether
it’s the signing of register under the magnificent
portrait of the 1st Lady de Tabley,
group shots on the staircase or less formal
photographs as guests enjoy your hospitality in the
Portico room or on the lawn.
Wedding Catering at Tabley House
There is no hot food
or bar facility within the house. There are a number
of options for on-site catering but you also have
the freedom and flexibility to take your guests to
one of the many first class restaurants and hotels
in the area.
It would be possible
to have a light cold buffet for smaller receptions
within the Portico or there is an option of using
the Tea Room/Bistro for a reception for up to 50
people.
